Bakugan Decorations
Bakugan arrived in the United States in early 2008 with the debut of their animated series on Cartoon Network. Somewhat similar to other Japanese imports such as Pokemon or Yu-Gi-Oh, the series focuses on mythical battling creatures and the collectors that battle them. In the case of Bakugan, one creature, Naga, decides to absorb both the good and evil cores that provide balance to the universe, named Vestroia. However, he absorbs too much of the evil (Silent) core. Naga’s sister, Wavern, has absorbed the Infinity core, the positive core. Both cores must be found and restored in order to restore the universe.
A group of friends finds a collection of cards that have fallen from the sky. They then adopt the name Bakugan Battle Brawlers and set out to learn more about Bakugan, the cards and the game involving them. The first season of the animated series focuses on these friends as they journey to the universe of Vestroia, battling hteir Bakugan against others they encounter along the way.
Season two of Bakugan began in 2009 and is titled New Vestroia. This season focuses on the friends being drawn to New Vestroia and joining other, indigenous battle brawlers to fight the evil organization Vexos. Concurrent with the anime series, a Bakugan game was released featuring magnetic Bakugan figures and metal cards. Battle begins when two Bakugan open up on the same gate card. Power of the Bakugan, Gates, Traps and Ability cards are added to find the winner. The objective is to capture 3 of your opponent’s Gate cards. Bakugan has also spun off accessories to the game and, coming soon, a video game for all major game consoles. Bakugan has grown by leaps and bounds in its short time in the united States and shows no signs of slowing down.
